This is my cover version of the brilliant Alanis Morrisette track circa 1997. It contains Alanis' lyric & music, a bass line written & performed by her bassist, and my original lyrics and original bridge to the song. I have recently re-mixed this track which has been out on my channel since 2015.
I initially wanted to do this cover because of the bass line, which I discovered in a used issue of Bass Guitar magazine that I found in an old music store in Greenwhich Village in 2006. I carried the chart fo that bass line for 10 years before being able to produce it.
But, the subject of Alanis' lyrics took on an important meaning of their own when a young relative of mine was in trouble because of the prescription of anit-depressants that caused her to think of suicide.
This was my response to her--and to anyone faced with this dilemma.
