An angel in uniform

Policemen have a bad reputation for being stone hearted. To a point it may be true, for they have to be emotion less to do justice to their job, but then they are humans too. God has blessed them a heart similar to mine and yours. This policeman in my hometown made us all proud today with his simply guesture which he says was no big deal.

Ravi Kumar, was dropping his kids off to school when an auto driver came running to him asking for help. The policeman told his kids to get into the school even before asking the driver what help he needed. He came close to the auto to find a woman in immense pain and in the process of delivery. The woman had almost delivered her baby while in the auto and this policeman didn't think twice before lifting her and putting her in her car and driving her to the closest hospital as fast as he could.

If it were anyone else in Ravi's place, the best he/she would have done was to call an ambulance and wait till it reaches the spot, but this could have waited a lot of time and put the baby's and mother's life at risks.

The lady delivered that baby in Ravi's car and the hospital staff gave the necessary treatment to the baby and the new mother as soon as they reached the hospital.

What made us proud was that he didn't consider the woman's religion. Yes, she was a Muslim. All he was bothered about was that she was a human and she needed help.

I hope every human in this world thinks like Ravi . After all religious barriers are of no use.
