Amazon's Managed Blockchain service, which makes it easy to join public networks or create and manage scalable private networks, has begun supporting Ethereum.

In a statement released today by Amazon Web Services, it was noted that #AWS customers can create #Ethereum nodes in minutes and connect to the Ethereum mainnet and test networks such as #Rinkeby and #Ropsten. It was also stated that the Amazon Managed Blockchain monitored node health, changed unhealthy nodes, and automated Ethereum software upgrades, improving customers' availability of Ethereum infrastructure.

AWS launched its Ethereum support for preview in December.

8359 nodes are currently running on the Ethereum network. 33 percent of these are located in the USA, 20 percent in Germany and 8 percent in China. With Amazon's new service, this number is expected to increase rapidly. Nodes provide consensus, control transactions, and secure the network from potential attacks. The number of nodes in Bitcoin is over 10 thousand.

While Amazon offers services related to public blockchains such as Ethereum, it is also in the preparation of its own digital currency. It is claimed that the e-commerce and technology giant chose Mexico for this and will launch a digital money project in this country. The project, which has not been officially announced yet, aims to keep Prime customers of the platform connected to the system.
