As a fresh announcement by Amazon, prime members will be able to order groceries for delivery of Whole Foods within one or two hours. This facility is available in four markets Dallas, Virginia Beach, Cincinnati and Austin. The high-speed delivery service will be for two-hour while one-hour delivery will cost $7.99 on orders above $35.
This is a major integration between e-commerce operations and grocery section. As a result of this partnership, prime members will enjoy the facility to order bakery, dairy, meat, seafood, floral, fresh and organic products. According to Prime Now VP, we will be offering this facility to more markets soon but we can not give any time frame yet.
From the time of Whole Foods acquisition in the June of last year, this is the biggest step that Amazon has taken towards grocery section. Earlier the company has started to sell Echo speakers at the chain and was also offering special discounts for prime members.
