Centro Dragao do Mar de Arte e Cultura is a cultural center which is a popular place for the visitors in Brazil. It has a large area with the facilities of a theatre, exhibitions, planetarium, cinema and a library. The inauguration of this center held in 1999 in honor of Francisco José do Nascimento, who is known as a hero for the Ceara movement for abolition in Brazil. He refused to move the slave further to the south side of the country for slavery due to which he is famous, and people remember him in kind words. The main focus of this place is the culture and art of Brazil for visitors. People love to visit this place because of the various facilities at one spot which can help them learn the culture. The library is public which is located at the culture complex of the building. There are two entries for the visitors, on through the main entrance of Centro Dragao do Mar de Arte e Cultura and another form the Presidente Castelo Branco Avenue. It is one vital place for the teachers, students and the researchers to explore with having more than 40 thousand titles and 70 thousand books. It is also considered as the 4th largest “Rare Titles” place within the country.
The best thing about this place is that it has a cultural memorial which depicts the art, folk and cultural history of Ceara. There are six rooms divided with relevant equipment for the people to view and learn about it. Another place you can see is the Art Museum which is on two floors with antiques and art pieces which are breathtaking. The planetarium is a project of 20 multimedia projectors depicting rainbows and known as modern technology in the world. There are three sessions in a day for the visitors holding 90 people at one time. It shows the details about starts, galaxies and planets observation. People wait for hours to be in this session, and it is something which you cannot miss if you are in Centro Dragao do Mar de Arte e Cultura.
The overall architecture of this place is with the bold lines and surrounded by restaurants, bars, and theaters. You can walk around to enjoy the amazing complex with joining various other blocks down the streets. Centro Dragao do Mar de Arte e Cultura is the main focus of the city and also popular with the people residing at that place.
