Hi, I'm Donny.

It is extremely exciting to be participating in this grand experiment. To be frank, I'm also rather eager to earn some money, status and credibility and I promise after this post not too much of the self aggrandizing.

My aim here on the Steemit platform is to eek out a living and lift myself out of my meager existence. It seemed to me that an aspiring author could preemptively build a fan base here, before releasing their work. So that's my angle.

There seems to be no shortage of anarchist engaging in what I call anarcho futurism without them even realizing it. My work is to that end. Anarchista musings from a futurist's perspective.

I shall endeavor to attempt to make sense of the confluence of technologies and how they will relate in a world of self governance.

If you've ever wondered what that might look like but had a hard time visualizing it, I encourage you to follow me.

What really compelled me to give Steemit a try was that the platform is predicated on merit!

The biggest challenges ahead are likely to be financial.

I am typing from a freebie computer that was given to me and let me just state that it has seen better days. Physically, this thing looks like it shouldn't function. The keyboard part is slightly bent up on both ends. The metal casing that goes around the edges is also slightly mangled, warped and protruding. But hey, it WORKS!

Utility is something that should be important.

I have divested from most possessions that don't offer me utility. Minimalism starts with realizing the distinction between what you need and what you want. It took me years to reconcile having lost most of my belongings in a storage auction. What I eventually determined was that all of it was meaningless. I had to learn to let go. You can too.

After finding myself back in Columbus, Ohio I had decided that I would broker energy in a deregulated market. I had been doing one form of door to door sales or another for many years and the allure of simply getting a customer to sign a year contract for a service they were already using was too strong to resist. But the independence was what really appealed to me. No one telling me how many sales I should get, no hand holding, no sales meetings and the only drawback if you can call it that was no salary.

The very notion of working without a salary is repugnant to most. I recall back when I was a sales manager asking my staff how many would still be in the room if the job had no base pay in an effort remind them to pull their quotas. Working without guaranteed pay is scary but satisfying from my perspective.

The key is effort. You get exactly what you put into it. This formula is precisely why I fell into energy sales and why I felt drawn to Steemit.

Independent energy sales gives me the freedom and flexibility for more than one income stream. If I had a nine to fiver, the opportunity to try other means of earning money diminishes. I honestly feel that finding this platform at this time was serendipity though.

Get paid to publish content without going through the arduous task of soliciting publishers, haggling over terms of payment or any of the intricacies associated with traditional publishing in the past. How could I turn away from that? I love being right in the midst of emergent tech. My participation was all but guaranteed once I discovered this platform and I will easily adapt and thrive here if given the chance to. I suppose that part is really up to you.

You should probably follow me.

My thoughts are often fragmented but they are not divergent.

I consider myself to be fairly magnanimous and a part time polemicist, so good luck rattling me trolls!

If you are a troll, I encourage you to try.

You should probably still follow me.

Thanks for reading.
