How can anybody deny that our system of government has failed us entirely? Are Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump really the best that the major parties can scrape together? Is it a coincidence that the top people on both sides of the aisle are the pinnacles of ruthless sociopathy?

Clinton is a troll. Even if you ignore over two decades of scandal, from Vince Foster and Whitewater to Benghazi and Emailgate, she is still a monster. Her tenure as Secretary of State has shown that she is as enthusiastic about enforcing American hegemony through brutality as any Republican war hawk. Until very recently her speaking style was markedly wooden and almost robotically dispassionate, however her new handlers have trained her to mime human emotions, and her formerly expressionless face has been replaced with the grinning rictus mask of complete insincerity.

Trump is no better, and we all know it. For years we’ve watched him bounce around like a game, like a wind up toy, like two hundred and fifty pounds of self-serving greed on wheels. The desperate and pathetic vanity of our celebrities only mirrors the degeneracy of our own culture, so take a good long look at “The Donald” because he’s the poster child for the 21st century.

These people, its no mystery where they come from. You sharpen the human appetite to the point where it can split atoms with its desire, you build egos the size of cathedrals, fiber optically connect the world to every eager impulse, grease even the dullest dreams with these dollar-green gold-plated fantasies until every human becomes an aspiring emperor, and voilà! You’ve created a system where the most callous and unfeeling members of our society rise to positions of power.

It isn’t just politics either. The financial establishment is led by the same class of shortsighted narcissists. As Wall Street scrambles from one deal to the next, Main Street gets stuck holding the bag as our water turns to poison, our air thickens, even the bee’s honey takes on the metallic taste of radioactivity, and it just keeps coming, faster and faster. There’s no chance to think, to prepare; it’s buy futures, sell futures, when there is no future.

We’re on a runaway train, piloted by a million Trumps and Clintons, every one of them ready to screw over their own mother to make a buck, with no scruples or boundaries to hold them back from taking whatever it is that they can get their hands on. The word “unsustainable” is frighteningly inadequate to describe the irresponsibility of allowing our natural resources, our economy, our nation itself to be managed in such a reckless manner.

We need a new plan. Not only do we need to get those in power out, we need to keep them out permanently. We need a system wherein those who work hard get to benefit from the product of their efforts, not a system that rewards killers, thieves and lawyers with virtually unlimited resources.
