When I read Carey Wedler's introduction post I was intrigued by her. She had been smitten with Obama and then he let her down. She didn't take it lightly - she blowtorched her Obama shirt in a Youtube video and garnered 2 million views. I googled "anti-media" and found the Facebook page that she writes about in her post. News By The People For The People
Carey is the editor in chief, Youtuber, and writer for the site. The Anti-Media site is funded by donations, and anyone can submit a news piece and decide what category it fits. A news by the people for the people format, that is anti-establishment. The stories have various catchy titles like "The 7 Huge News Stories You Probably Didn't Hear About In 2017"
It is exciting to have a YouTube star and editor in chief like Carey on Steemit! She joins the ranks of our own @grantcardone as a few celebrities that have embraced the Steemit platform and are boosting the profile of our arena.
Great Gear
I wonder who designed the gear for the anti-media? This tank top design pictured above is divine! We should team up with the Steemit shop and these garments will be flying off the shelves, so stunning! The image is burned in my mind.
I want this top! Maybe Carey will do a contest to win one of these! She could work with The Steemit shop to come up with new designs for Steemit that would fly off the shelves and spread the brand across the globe! She could wear the shirt while making her Youtube videos. Here's the steemit shop link if you want to check it out: https://thesteemitshop.com/
But I digress!
It is Carey's duty to ask questions, and the response has been ferocious!
Watch this video and see what she says:
Asking Questions Teaches Us and Gives Us More Questions
I am so excited about the questions Carey is going to be asking on @steemit while promoting cryptocurrency as an anti-dote to government corruption.
Questions help us LEARN. Questions stimulate, inform, provoke and inspire!
The answers help us LEARN and form new questions. This leads to further understanding. This is what the world needs more of, not propoganda for advertisers.
Questions teach us that we really don't know much. There is much more that we don't know than we do know. I think this is the real message of the anti-media. I think it is about open-mindedness!
Carey does yoga like me, and yoga brings your awareness back to your body and gets you in touch with your humanity.
I love her quote:
It isn’t always easy, and I’ve also learned that my anger isn’t just because of how troubled the world is.
As humans, we carry trauma and emotional suffering from our personal experiences. I can’t blame the government — or even Hollywood — for all of my inner suffering and lack of self-love. In some ways, I channeled this pain into my videos and projected my own issues into the political world and onto others, as I see so many doing now in the age of Donald Trump — whether they love or hate him.
Media is a human system. Created by humans, consumed by humans and the awareness that we are always projecting ourselves onto our experience is key.
