「自由への市場」の翻訳　The Japanese Translation of The Market for Liberty has finished!

巷では有名なタネヒル夫婦の著作「The Market for Liberty」を完成させました。完成版は、

に載せました。翻訳で大切なのがまずは題名ですよね。スペイン語で「para」にするのか「por」にするのか「de」にするのか以上に、英語のこの「for」は代物なので、日本語に直す場合は、「ザ・マーケット・フォー・リバティ」や「自由の市場」や「自由市場」はまずいと思いました。たぶん、本来の意味からすると、「市場のある自由」とか、「自由を味方する市場」とか、「開放する市場」或いは「自由のための市場」なのかな、と思います。私は単純に「自由への市場」としました。「自由は持てる（人気がある）」とアレックス・ジョーンズがいつも言っているように、「市場のある自由」は私の気に入った題名ですが、英語が表現する意味の一部しか捉えていないので、より多くの意味を含めることのできる単純なタイトルを選びました。

The translation of the well-known book among the circles, "The Market for Liberty," has been finished. The first thing you'll come to a problem at the translation work is the thing about the title as always. But it's not just whether the English "for" should be Spanish's "para" or "por" or "de" or something else. You just cannot do a word-to-word translation for Japanese. If I do that, they'll misunderstand it as "Free Market" or "Liberty in the Market." Does this English "for" have a meaning of "in favor of" or "towards" or "in the direction of" or "for the place of" or something else? I like the idea of Alex Jones's saying, "Liberty is popular!" so I personally like a Japanese title meaning, "The Market Place Trading for Liberty." But this is too specific and does not render the English's meaning as a whole. So I settled with, "The Market towards Liberty."

The book had a tremendous impact on the famous billionaires like Doug Casey and Jeff Berwick as themselves show a great appreciation for the book in many occasions. I was particularly motivated to translate the book after seeing Jeff Berwick's video interviewing Jorge Trucco who translated the book into Spanish.

I also agree on what Jeffery Tucker and Joel Bowman are saying in this video about the book . The book was written in 1970. It was in the middle of cold war and statism was rampant. But still, the ideas written in the book are so important and so relevant today than ever.

日本人的には、この本は生きる糧を与えてくれると思います。多くの日本人は、自分が社会の中で何か役に立たないと、自分で自分を穀潰し扱いする傾向が日本人にはあると思います。自己中心的で自分勝手は、正直であり実践的であり、何より道徳的で人道的であるという、人生観や倫理観の問題から含めて、きちんと教えてくれます。

As for the things Japanese in particular, it is a book for life, I think. Many Japanese tend to think that if they are not useful to the society, they tend to regard themselves worthless and so they do think about suicide under the depression. But the book teaches us such a basic concept as that selfishness is honest and practical and most importantly it's moral and humane (pro-life).

The original book contains a few punctuation errors but there are audiobooks available in the internet so I took advantage of their readings in order to get a correct idea.
