And New Hampshire is supposed to be known for its commitment to personal freedom. I lived there for a year, in 2005. It's a nice state, and I appreciated it that there was no requirement to have car insurance, or for adults to wear seat belts (I always wear mine, but I feel that should be a personal decision). It's also a beautiful state with a lot of history, and I love history. But, I was lonely there, as I didn't know a single person, except a great-uncle and a cousin who lived an hour and a half north of me, who I visited twice that year. The rest of the time, it was just me, my husband, and the cats, alone in the snow. I enjoy visiting there now, but I was happy to move out of it.
