There are as many variations of VAnS philosophy as there are VAnS, or so it seems. And while our differences can make us great, it seems most of us have a serious flaw. A horrible weakness. We can barely abide the others.
Let’s break down the more common relationships between the more common philosophies:
We'll begin with the trans and prims. Admittedly, I have limited knowledge about either, but perhaps that perception will make my explanation more relatable. They seem like polar opposites on the surface, but for the most part, they have already found their common ground. They’re the smart ones. I’m not incredibly knowledgeable about them, but I would assume from the basic understanding I have that they have little concern for economic system rivalry. Their main focus is the path of progress man will take, technological advancement to extreme or a return to more fundamental and natural states of man, communities and their interaction with the world. Either way, both are more interested in how we impact and help the world through practical method than with how we will acquire and exchange resources and services and products.
Then there are the commies and their buddies in syndi and mutualism and the capitalists and any variations of that sort to include, typically but not always, voluntaryists. These two sets, reds and yellows, are the siblings of the community. And the rivalry is disgusting. And most of what we see of interaction in the community between different hyphenates. They act as if the world is not big enough and there is not enough freedom for all of them.
Finally there are the Black Flags and the Agorists. Black Flags focus solely on achieving anarchy and little else, other than trying to mediate the sibling rivalry found in what I call the hyphenate wars. Agorists are also typically more interested in suffocating the state. I like to think we are the practical realists. We know that chances are we’ll never get the anarchy everyone wants to think we’ll have, but either way, who gives a shit, we’ll keep selling whatever people want whether there is or isn’t a state. What matters is not feeding it.
These are all simplifications. But I would like to address what I consider to be a fallacy. While Agorists tend to be more sympathetic to the market brothers’(capitalism/volutnaryism) systems of resource allocation and such, there are many that think that puts them in the same category. It doesn’t.
Agorism is represented by Black and Grey. Both colors represent the markets Agorists prefer to work within. The grey market(not illegal, but untaxed and skirting the edge) and the black market. The Black also, obviously, represents anarchy, ie, no rulers. I see the grey as having a second meaning as well. Neutral. We don’t care about your hyphenate. Many of us come from the schools of capitalism but once we embrace agorism, we stop giving a shit about all that for us, personally. It’s about starving the state and providing, at a fair price, what people want. The end.
That said, Black Flags and Agorists are much more closely related because they focus almost solely on ending the state. Many of them have other sympathies but they abandon the spectrum to focus on the black, at least while the state stands.
There are many other variations, but for the purpose of this discussion, we have covered pretty well what is relevant.
The hyphenate wars force the non-hyphenates to feel obligated to get involved, not to take sides but to get it to stop.
Here’s the problem, as I see it, between the yellow and red: neither inherently requires, demands or expects ALL others to conform to their ways yet they both assume the other has nefarious plans to do just that and so they accuse each other of simply claiming to champion freedom in a bid to enslave through their own methods.
It’s a bit ridiculous, in my opinion. And it’s why I ultimately adopted Agorism and stand under the Black first and foremost. If we believe every man is free to live as he pleases so long as he forces no other person to comply with his wishes, then there is little point in fighting about this shit.
Commies want communism and they believe it can and will be voluntary. The second it isn’t, those they try to impose their will on can resist.
The Fat Cats want capitalism and they believe it can and will be voluntary. the second it isn’t, those that they exploit and compel to obey them can resist them.
But today, TODAY, while the state still stands, it is ridiculous, pointless, fruitless and, worst, HARMFUL TO US ALL, to fight about this shit at the cost of fulfilling our obligation to the Black. To Freedom. To ANARCHY.
It helps nothing.
The BLACK comes first.
I don't give a damn what other color you wave.
The BLACK comes first.
Anyone in the VAnS community can tell you that I'm pretty fucking legit and I'll tell you I've always leaned more towards a market for society but I've also am in favor of small groups sharing resources as they see fit and agree to and I've seen it work with those that understand what they are agreing to and actually particiapte and share both resources and labor.
Hell, most of my friends anymore are market centered anarchists and voluntaryists but I've found my common ground with red/blacks.
All of us can exist in this world and be free. We can.
But before we can even be free to live as we wish, we have to stop being fucking retarded and stop being divisive and stop the fucking hyphenate war and stop acting like fucking children and start focusing on our common ground and common goal. The Black. No rulers. Freedom. Anarchy. First and ALWAYS that.
In order to win the freedom to decide our way in the world, we must unite despite the way we see the world.
