Every year Android users are facing the same riddle. Which name will Google choose for the next major Android release. The most guessed name for Android O is Oreo. But what about Oatmeal Cookie?
That may be Google's plan when we have a look at the "oc-dev" reference which was found in the source code and commit logs of Android 8.0. The "oc" may stand for "oatmeal cookie". There are also references to "oatmeal cookie" which appeared at the Google I/O some weeks back.
But accepting this name at the current date may be wrong. Do you remember Android K? Some easter eggs contained hints of "Key Lime Pie". This was just an internal codename. KitKat was the real deal afterwards. So let's wait for autumn this year. Then Google will reveal the secret.
Not a bad guess on the name, curious to see what it is I can't think of another desert that is OC off hand.
