We all want to become a hacker after watching the hacker movie or any other movie scene that involves a terminal with green text right? I assume the answer will be yes. As there is no shortcut to becoming rich, there is no shortcut to becoming a great hacker, fact!
The generation today we as humans love to find something hard to do very easy by doing it with a shortcut! Ahh the typical human! Well, the same is the case in the Cybersecurity field. There are various apps for hacking other peoples phones including DroidJack and AndroRAT Binder. These are basically Remote Administration Tools otherwise known as RATs.
How does it work?
The hacker simply sends the user a link or tricks them on clicking on a file to install it. Once installed the RAT has full control on their phone.
The scary part?
It has control over Everything. Yep you read that right!
Things AndroRAT Binder can collect include (but not limited to):
1: Call Logs
2: Messages
3: Photos
4: Chats
5: Take Screenshots
I would highly advise on being careful when installing and use such an App with a malicious intent why?
Because According to The Guardian the FBI arressted over 100 people for using a RAT called "Blackshades". Think about it. You don't want to be in the same situation as these guys.
Later on back in 2015, police also started raiding various homes around Europe and in the UK for people who were using DroidJack for spying purposes. The story which was reported by We Live Security wrote that "thirteen homes were raided" this shows the magnitude of this problem and why it needs to be avoided. You don't want the law enforcement knocking on your door do you?
Protecting yourself from AndroRAT
It's very simple!
1: Do NOT trust any links sent to you on social media or email by strangers. Don't click them is the key.
2: Do NOT install any Android RAT app because chances are guess what? It's probably infected already. Surprise?
3: Do NOT visit websites that have drive by downloads or maliciously download a file to your smartphone. This is a big NO NO.
4: Only use the official Google PlayStore for downloading any apps or if you want an APK, then use sites like APKMirror etc. Something more official, safe and actually good.
Is AndroRAT Binder App any good
Absolutely! If you are using it for educational or informational purposes in a CONTROLLED environment with PERMISSION there should be no issues at all. Afterall if you are breaking into InfoSec you will need to know how RATs work and infect the victim. There is a big learning curve and especially if you are going into the defensive side and even offensive side these things will appear when you might have to investigate and do a mini forensic analysis on a device only to find out it was infected by a RAT!
