SLOWLY GETTING THE HANG OF THIS. A RARE INSIGHT INTO ME.

Some of you may laugh but this is true and it may be my generation or I am a bit slow adapting. I hate change but realize it is important to move with the times. This hasn't always been the case with me though. This is a rare insight into me so those that engage with me will see a bit more of who I am. This is as real as it gets with me from someone who doesn't open up much ever.

If you know something is holding you back and are the dinosaur in the room you have no choice. It was only about 4 years ago I changed my mobile phone for a more modern one. I was the only one with a brick, remember the ones you could drop and throw and it would fall apart, but clipped back together and still worked afterwards. That was me and the only reason I had a phone was to make and receive calls. I would rather phone than text as I felt personal contact was more important. If you want to take a photograph then go and buy a camera sort of person.

My old phone up until 4 years ago. it did it's job and that was good enough for me. No one would steal it either lol.

I eventually changed to a Samsung smart phone and couldn't be happier. It took me some time mind you to understand all the extra things you get. It's a bit like getting a new television with a remote control that looks like it has way too many buttons. I am not one to play around with it as I will probably cock something up and will need help getting back to a channel. Electronics are not my forte you could say and now you throw Steem at me. I have been here 6 months nearly and after being like a duck out of water am now starting to get to grips with this place. It took me over a week to load my photograph, it wasn't a matter of not wanting to but how do you do it.

My current phone. Probably outdated but modern for me and not changing it for anyone.

I was invited into helpie a couple of weeks ago and the same scenario again, another world with more to discover. I was laughing the other night as they had a meeting but couldn't find the room. After a few minutes I found it and it is all new to me learning as I go. It is all out of my comfort levels but I see the light and I am going to succeed.

I loaded @actifit the other night and checked it today. I laughed as I hadn't pushed save so it hadn't even started yet but that is me in a nutshell. Once it's there it's there and then I am happy but I just have to get there first.

This is just an insight into who I am and I am having to discover me whilst doing this. We are all capable of so much more and I will push myself into other comfort zones in the future. i would like to start doing Dlive but need to know how and what to do and how to load etc. That will come but it's all about baby steps for now. I am sure there are others out there who have had similar issues and will overcome them as well. Patience is key for me to learn how things work and then I am away. Now you know a little bit more about me and can smile knowing there is someone who probably knows less than you about all this stuff.

Yep there's a lot to be said for those old Nokia phones - less distracting!

You might think of yourself as a little slow on the uptake with tech but if you're here on steem then you're well ahead of the game!

I bet his snake score is off the charts though

Ha! Absolutely!

Pinball and a few others yes. Don't play me in golf either as I stopped playing as it was too easy.

Hi Steve. I have never felt ahead at all ever. I am hoping that you could be right on this one though.

Lol i remember that Nokia lol, your reasons for keeping it were quite valid to me though, I still have a couple of them as scrap somewhere in my wardrobe,lol...did you say your current phone is outdated? I disagree its a beauty.

Ive always been attracted to remote controls since I was a kid so figuring out these techy things always came easy somewhat for me, I havent gotten into dlive yet anyway, I dont know what I will do with it besides my camera wont give me top notch quality so i have to stall a bit

Steem monsters has been the toughest for me to crack, maybe being the first kind of that game i will be involved in, i still dont get how to go but with time maybe...

There is so much more to explore and know, im glad youre taking more steps to figure these bits out, you can only get better. Thanks for sharing

There is plenty of room to learn for me.I really hate not knowing and try and teach myself everything so it does take time.

Yeah bro old is gold you know

Sometimes it is.

Lol some of us adapt a lot more slowly than others, certainly no shame in that. In fact, it is a good thing

I do struggle to adapt but I get there eventually.

Lol, they are marvelous things. I do most of my steemit posts on my phone. The photos/artwork and everything. One little bit at a time and the become indispensable!!

I must admit I am glad I got rid of the old one as they are indispensable.

I feel you. If I had joined steemit when I first heard about it, I probably would be in a better situation financially now for example

I agree timing is everything. Some just take longer than others to actually feel comfortable doing it though.

I definitely understand the need to want to have a simpler device. Some days I just leave the thing at home when I'm doing something I don't need my phone for. They have their pros and cons both. One thing I've even been following out of curiosity is a project called light phone (link below) and if it offers what I'm looking for I might pay the bill to have a second phone "for emergencies etc" that has limited functionality and small size.

So many new projects as technology advances!

hahaha! oh man I can relate totally. I didn't get a cell phone until a few months ago! That was my first one ever! Mrs. J said that I was the last person on earth that didn't have one and that's probably close to the truth.
I never use it and have no idea where it is most of the time. so I'm a true Dinosaur. It took me along time to figure out how to answer it and how to make a call, that's all I know about it.
