কুকুর সর্বদা প্রভুভক্ত হয়। এরা নিজেদের মালিককে সব বিপদ থেকে রক্ষা করে। পোষ্য কুকুরগুলো খুব ভয়ংকর হয় না তবে অচেনা কেউ বাসায় আসলে তখন হিংস্র হয়ে উঠে। বাড়ি পাহারা দেওয়ায় কুকুরের জুড়ি মেলা ভাড়। তবে কিছু পাগল কুকুরও আছে এদের থেকে সাবধান থাকতে হয়। কুকুরের ঘ্রান শক্তি প্রবল,তাই পুলিশের বিভিন্ন তল্লাশির কাজে কুকুরের সাহায্য নেওয়া হয়।
