Pistol Shrimp or also known as Snapping Shrimp or Alpheid Shrimp is amazing small animal that capable of producing a loud snapping sound. They grows to only 3-5cm long. and have a large claw that can grow up larger than half of their body.
This Little Creature are native to the warmer waters of the Mediterranean. There are around 600 different species of these creatures live on Earth. These species are grouped in 38+ genera with Synalpheus and Alpheus being the two most popular genera. The Synalpheus genus has around 100 species and Alpheus genus has over 250 species.
They Large claw is just like a real-life stun gun that can knock up their prey. the source sound generated can get up to 210 decibels, which is louder than a gunshot and the sound will stuns small fish and crabs, allowing the shrimp to move in for the kill. and the imploding bubble also generates temperatures of 4400 degrees Celsius, which is nearly as hot as the surface of the sun.
