Nothing is extraordinary like nature. There are thousands and thousands of different animal species in the world, impossible to know all of them. Even so, there are so special animals that it would be a shame to miss out. We selected 15 of the strangest, which you probably did not know.
1- Ogcocephalus darwini
A pretty fish, a little farce of evolution: unable to swim, a beautiful lipstick, beard and whiskers, a bump between the eyes, an Apollo of the abyss.
2- Ambystoma mexicanum
The axolotl is a Mexican salamander with an incredible head, less than thirty centimeters long. Unique in its kind, it can spend its entire life in the larval stage and reproduce without reaching the adult stage.
3- Babyrousa babyrussa
This Indonesian cousin of the wild boar, the babirusa, is entirely naked and looks more like a pig, except for his teeth, which grow and bend backwards, until they resemble strong tusks. Excellent swimmer, he can easily go from one island to another to look for food.
4- Chrysocyon brachyurus
Originally from South America, the mane wolf belongs to the family Canidae, but is distinguished by long legs that guarantee great agility even in tall grass.
5- Condylura cristata
This cute little mole, native to northern America, is almost blind, but compensates with the tentacles present around her nose, which serve as much to protect it from dust and dirt during these excavations, to be recognized and capture the insects he feeds on.
6- Capra falconeri
This big goat of Indian origin has a big beard and long corkscrew horns. Cuckold, no? The markhor is typical of the Himalayan massifs and follows a strictly herbivorous diet.
7- Cryptoprocta ferox
The fossa strongly resembles a small cougar with a lemur head. It is also the largest carnivore of the island of Madagascar, but not a cat: it belongs to another family of the animal genus: the Eupliradae.
8- Elaphodus cephalophus
The crested deer has two long vampire teeth and a puff that hides its little horns. It is rather rare, very shy towards the man and is only in the forests of the north of China.
9- The lampreys
Not a species, this time, but a class. There are more than 30 different lampreys inhabiting different habitats on the planet. Finally, the principle is always the same: a long body, full of teeth and no jaw.
10- Litocranius walleri
The gazelle-giraffe: with long legs and a long neck, this cousin of the gazelle is noticed by his way of running head down, not to bump tree branches.
11- Kiwa hirsuta
The yeti crab, recently discovered in the Pacific Ocean, south of Easter Island. This small crab (less than 20 centimeters long) is distinguished by the abundant bristles that cover these legs.
12- Zaglossus bruijni
This small mammal typical of New Guinea lives at over 1300 meters altitude, looks a bit like a porcupine, but has the elongated snout of the anteater, no teeth and a long tongue.
13- Moloch Horridus
Taking its name from a biblical demon, the moloch is much less impressive than its namesake: it is actually a small lizard, of Australian origin, not even venomous.
14- Bipes
Strange little creature native to Mexico, the pipe looks like a snake, with two pretty pasties at the front, like a lizard. Neither snake nor lizard, it's a beer!
15- Euspinolia militaris
The ant-panda: the worst name of the universe, the king of "false-friends". It looks like an ant that looks like a panda, in fact it's a wasp that looks like an ant that looks like a panda. It's cute, is not it?
