Endemis in New Zealand, tuataras grow up to 80 cm (31 inches) and is marked by a spiked pinnacle along its back, especially for the males. although they look like modern reptiles and lizards, they have a body structure that scientists believe is essentially the same for 200 million years. For this reason, scientists conclude that tuataras are identical to the evolution of lizards and snekes.
