When an insect flies right in front of the nose or waves off a sugar container in the kitchen, you may not like the presence of insects. But, like it or not, we live on Earth surrounded by about a million trillion insects.

Insects evolved 400 million years ago, when Earth's oxygen levels shrank, so did the insects, so they were easier to breathe and flee faster than their predators.
