Hi friend steemian meet again with me, this time I will give one information about the rare animal in the world that is SAOLA.
Maybe you rarely hear the name of this animal.
Saola (Pseudoryx nghetinhensis) is one of the largest rare mammals in the world, it is a cow-like animal found only in Annam Rows in Vietnam and Laos. This animal is related to antelope, cow, and goat.

Often called the Asian unicorn, little is known about the mysterious saola in the two decades since its discovery. Nothing in captivity and this rarely seen mammal has been so threatened. Scientists have definitely documented saola in the wild only on four occasions to this day.

Saola (pronounced: sow-la) is recognized by two parallel horns with sharp edges, which can reach 20 inches in length and are found in men and women. Means the "spindle horn" in Vietnam, they are cousin cousins but resemble antelope. Saola has a prominent white mark on the face and large jaw glands on the muzzle, which can be used to mark the territory or attract a partner.

Saola is a diurnal animal. He is active during the day and rests when the sun sets. Plants, grasses and foliage are the foods of these mammals. Saola is a herbivorous animal. Typically, saola in Vietnam will breed between February to March. While saola in Laos, breed in April to June. The female saola will give birth to a child of a saola. The saola child will be treated by the mother until the age of 8 months. Well, the life of saola can reach 8-12 years.

Currently Saola extinction rate is almost the same with other large mammal species in Southeast Asia, such as the Javan Rhinoceros for example. This situation is inferred from the fact that there is no Saola population in any zoo.

Saola's own extinction threat is already at a critical stage in the Red List of Threatened Species. This means that the species is extreme at high risk for extinction in the wild.
The threat to the most important Saola comes from poaching.

We still have the opportunity, albeit very small, to save this incredible animal. So let's protect this rare animal together so that our grandchildren can see it.
