Wild California Burro

This is one of the four wild burros that I encountered while I was on my walk yesterday. They were all grazing on the hill, so I wasn't able to get too close to them. Some days they will be walking on the road and they will come right up to you. The braver ones will let you give them a little scratch on the nose.

This is my entry in #animalphotography by @juliank and @photocontests daily photography contest.

What part of CA is that?

It is the east side on Lake Havasu. Near Parker Dam.

I love your photos @rwedegis, keep em coming!

Thank you!

Wow, So serious))

She was trying to figure out what I was doing. They are very curious!

That's so cool to see! When I saw your photo I remembered a camping trip I took on an island of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. When we woke up, there were wild horses roaming around our campsite. I'm sure you probably had a similar feeling when you saw this burro!

The burros roam freely through the campground here. They're really curious so they get pretty close. We would love to see wild horses.
