Sacred Beetles

Did you know that beetles have been considered sacred animals according to Egyptian beliefs.
They were a symbol of strength and power and of protection against evil.
Hence, it is used in brooches as a protection symbol amulet.
In Mexico they are also used as amulets for love and longevity, the terrible thing is that live beetles are used to make brooches.
They are used by women as decorations to decorate their costumes. They stick stones with a strong glue to the shell of the beetle and place a chain to hold it better.
They can be found in the craft markets in Mexico, they are called Maquech. Who has bought them says they do not usually live more than a few weeks.
This is a cruelty that should end and the way is not encouraging the purchase of said amulet
