Good day, Steemit! I am going to talk to you today about why I think I'd be a good owner of Frogs. See, I have always wanted to have a small handful of pet true toads and I also have past experience owning an Egyptian Toad.
This is what two Egyptian toads look like.

Back when I was really little, I actually had an Egyptian toad I named Gordon, and I have no idea what my motives were in naming him that, mainly as I was too young to understand any facts about names back then. In addition, I had limited knowledge of proper frog or toad care, like very limited. Therefore it never lived the full 15 years it would have with proper care, instead, it died while I was still a student at the elementary school I went to back then. However, I have evolved immensely since then when it comes to my knowledge of proper frog care.

First off, I went searching online for care sheets when I was in my late teens, and learned a few key things I was not able to grasp when I was little:
[1] A fish tank with 4 to 6 inches of coconut husk fiber or other 'safe substrate'.
[2] A cave-like hiding spot for the frog or toad (even if it's one of those translucent plastic igloos from PetCo)
[3] A bunch of plants that do not have any pesticide or other chemicals on them
[4] A water dish filled neck-high (for the frog or toad) with filtered water
[5] A hollowed out log to serve as a third hiding spot
[6] A temperature control system that keeps the tank no colder than 60 degrees Fahrenheit and no hotter than 75 degrees Fahrenheit if it's a true toad. The range is 75 degrees to 85 degrees for a Pacman frog.
Online care sheets I am quoting are as follows:

Then I started browsing online stores and it seems like Pacman frogs are infinitely easier to find than True Toads of any species, whether it's American toads, Egyptian toads, and the only exception I know of to this rarity is Marine toads.
And in this intellectual journey of mine, I ended up realizing something: I am going to need to save up a lot of money and perhaps even buy a physical book about how to give proper frog or toad care.
I also realized everything I need for the live frog is at pet stores I can bike to when it starts getting hot out, here in Connecticut where I dwell. How this frog ownership tale ends remains to be seen. But until then, thanks for reading this post from me!
