Many of us are dog lovers and enjoy their company, however we do not know some essential things like their way of communicating, we think that as they do not speak, they do not have any language or way of communicating with other dogs or with their own owners , because in different cases they try to say something, either to warn us of a danger, to ask for food or just to express the longing for a caress.
We must know that the dog, like any other living being, has its own language to communicate, and that in this way it is possible to feed, take refuge and socialize.
There are thousands of curiosities about the dog language, leaving in us thousands of questions and things to discover, that is why these tender animals do not stop surprising us, letting us know that not only we have a language. Unlike the man, the dog does not communicate through speech, if he did, I assure you that thousands of us would run out, to avoid that reaction in us the canine expresses itself through behaviors, reactions and movements, making use of its tail , ears, smell and the bark.
Many of us have come to complain about the barking of our pet, since in many opportunities it can become very acute or very serious, but a large number of us do not know why they do it, it is essential to clarify that barking is one of the fundamentals that governs the communication of the canine, because with the bark they alert us or try to call our attention, in order to show us different situations that can disconcert us, or they can simply be of our liking.
What do canines use to communicate?
As I mentioned earlier, barking is part of the dog's communication, but canine language is also based on:
Smell: we understand that the canine, has a very developed sense of smell, is therefore used to track things or even people, but the smell is not only used for that, since the canine uses it to communicate with other animals and even to take his master to important places. The canines are recognized among them through the smell, since each of them have a specific smell, which helps them differentiate the "hierarchy" between them.
The tail: It is one of the body parts of the canine, which is most used to express itself, it moves and is placed in different ways to give us to understand when it is upset, sad and even when it is afraid. Many times it is advised not to cut the tail of the canine, since in many opportunities this has hindered the communication of this.
Now, there are other parts of the body of our pet that we would not think it uses to communicate with us, because it not only uses the bark, smell and tail, but also gets to use the ears, placing them up and down , as with the tail, the ears can express when a dog is attentive, upset, sad, anxious, nervous and when he is afraid. Dog language sometimes also involves the eyes, since in several situations they tend to open their eyes more than normal, such as when they are attentive.
The canine can communicate in different ways, because this animal is one of the most intelligent, coming to adopt behaviors similar to those of his master.
Curiosities of the dog language
They tend to be placed in different positions to show their joy and sadness.
Your nose is not only used to communicate, because thanks to the amount of olfactory receptors are used in police forces for searches.
We can compare the importance of smell for the dog with the importance of vision for us, because to know if a person or an animal is close, tend to look for odors, because their vision is not as developed as ours .
