Wild Elk Herd found in Banff National Park

Greetings, another quickie one, travelers! We've just found this herd of Elks here in the National Park, and it is another dream come true. Elk, or Cervus Canadensis, is one traditional species that is really important for the local ecosystem's dynamics, both as a consumer of grassland, shaping its patterns, and as a prey for bears, cougars and wolfs. They grow their antlers to compete for mates every year, and in the season they often shed them. They're highly social animals, tipically found in herds, but usually careful around humans. I did not saw any other pictures of a bunch of them together like this when we were searching about this location, so it was a really fortunate surprise to cruise by them. Nature is amazing
