A Day at the Fair (Part 2)

You can read Part 1 here. I took so many pictures, it seemed best to divide them up into two posts.

I'm reasonably sure this massive critter is a Brahman bull, and that the woman was leading it to the children's petting zoo area. There certainly weren't any others like this at the fair!

The draft horse barn was nearly empty, but this mare and colt were both having lunch at the same time.

This is why the draft horse barn was nearly empty: a draft horse show was taking place in the arena. I had never seen this part of the fair before, and it was fascinating to watch the drivers maneuver the teams and wagons into the required positions.

After the teams had taken their turns, they all lined up for voting.

In addition to the draft horse barn, there was a barn with regular-size horses as well.

A main attraction at the fair (for me!) is the animals entered by the children of my good friend, @generikat. These are their lovely swine. The steer did not pose well for a photo, so he didn't make it into this post.

My friend, Ms. B. is an accomplished quilter, so we spent ample time admiring the quilts in the Quilts/Sewing building. I have not yet tried quilting, but there was plenty of inspiration right there.

Every day, a People's Choice award was given to one of the entries. Above is the quilt I voted for. It does weird things to one's eyes, and I like it.

This is a crocheted table cover. Amazing work!

I'm not sure if this is knitting or tatting. Either way, I wouldn't know how to make something like that, and I am very impressed by people who do.

Someone made this intricate chess set with a special kind of woodworking tool. I wonder how long it took?

I got some sort of a picture of Moo Bear II yesterday! He seemed to enjoy rolling in the straw and ruining his grooming after the shows were done.

By Sunday, Moo Jr., like the rest of us, was done;)!

He just doesn't seem to be into posing majestically for photos.

Some of the quilting is pretty amazing. I cannot even imagine having the patience required to make such things.
