I have made a few pictures of this dead badger. Probably this beautiful animal was hit by a car as he wanted to cross the road.
It shocked me. During my morning walk I suddenly saw this badger lying along the side of the road, I almost stepped on it because I saw it late, I was in deep thoughts.
During the day the Badgers live in a network of underground tunnels called a fortress, these are used from generation to generation and can become ancient. The badger shuffles its nose to the ground around its territory in search of slow-moving prey and plant food.
In my area are many badger fortresses but you normally do not see the badger. I only meet them when they are dead, and most of the time it is because of traffic.
The badger is a protected species.
Here is a picture of what a badger looks like living and well, he´s beautiful!
I hope you are well!
