Mantises is an order (Mantodea) insect containing more than 2,400 species in about 430 genera in 15 families. The largest family is Mantidae ("mantids"). Mantises are distributed throughout the world in temperate and tropical habitats. They have triangular heads with bulging eyes supported on a flexible neck. Their elongated bodies may or may not have wings, but all Mantodeas have very enlarged and adjusted forelegs to catch and grasp the prey; Their upright attitude
