I am in the middle of watching through some anime and i came across one that impressed me, the name of it is Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online.

Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online is a sequel to the widely popular original Sword Art Online which first aired in July 2012 the manga/novels have also done very well and have sold more than 20 million copies.|Source|

The anime itself is set in a universe where people can exist in a virtual reality but rather than explain the whole story i have left episode one below.
