It has been reported that in the southern hemisphere #Antarctica, the melt accelerated at alarm level, and 3 trillion tons of glaciers were lost between 1992-2017.
The results of the new international study published in the journal Nature show that Antarctica lost almost 84 billion tonnes of glacier per year between 1992 and 2011, and the amount of glacier melt has exceeded 241 billion tonnes per year between 2012 and 2017. In total, 3 trillion tons of glaciers were lost in 25 years.

In a survey of 88 scientists working with the American Aerospace Center (NASA) and the European Space Agency (ESA), it was estimated that in a quarter of a century, the ice sheet of ice melt was enough to cover an area as much as four meters deep with water.

Scientists have also pointed out that melting glaciers cause the world's oceans to rise 7.6 millimeters.5b2186385379ff27fcada22a.jpg
