The USA is rapidly moving backward from a polite society to one based on racist hatred and xenophobia.
Last Sunday the violent street gang known as proud boys held an event which led to their members violently beating a passer by who took issue with having a flag shoved in her face.
This violent group of hate filled people has been associated with murder and other violent crimes, typically race based or harming Islamic or Jewish community members.
These profascist individuals are also know to be supporters of the supreme cheeto, they support the vile platform of sexist and criminal behaviors the potus has steadily engaged in.
Sadly the person who was beaten by these violent people was later taken away by police, while the individuals who assaulted this Portland resident were not arrested, nor did the district attorney file charges. This despite the video evidence of the violent crime.
Here in Portland the racist and hate filled people seem to have the direct support of the police department. The Portland police bureau has been investigated for RACISM by the DOJ and found to be racist. The Portland police bureau has also paid recent settlements after they directly discriminated against a fellow officer who is black.
This sort of hate filled intolerance is not uncommon in the USA. The police and district attorney's are directly involved in racism. For our country to begin a move back towards common decency we will need to denazify our police, judges and district attorney's offices. While blatant racists run out justice system we will continue to see the violent street gangs, like the proud boys continue to become more violent and bold about their hate.
I believe it's time to fight back. We cannot stand by or go silently into the night. We must defend common decency from vile ignorance and intolerance.
