Britanski trg (British square) is one of the most popular squares in Zagreb. There you can find the open marketplace with vegetables and fruits from organic farms in Croatia. The square is in the city center and very popular cafe destination, especially during the veekends.
But probably the most interesting thing about this square is that on Sundays it becomes a big antique shop. On the British square market, you can find everything, from pins to locomotives (as we like to say).
On stands you can find chandeliers from the beginning of the 20th century, literary rites on which every real collector would envy you. Beautiful antique furniture, various artworks, retro clothes, it's all part of this market.
Unfortunately, the shift of generations could permanently erase part of the past that market brings every Sunday to one of the most beautiful Zagreb squares. Sales fell drastically and it became difficult for traders to cover even the basic costs. Hopefully the tradition will continue...
