While media rings wedding bells for Virushka, Anushka Sharma says No

Indians love their celebrities and their love demands every development in their lives to be shared with the country’s 1.32 billion people. When it comes to the country’s top power couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, there love life goes beyond mere speculations. So when the air became rife with rumours of ‘Virushka’ tying the knot in December, our enthusiasm escalated but was killed soon after when Sharma’s spokesperson denied the rumours saying, “There is no truth to this whatsoever.”

As top dailies cashed in on the rumours of a December wedding substantiating with words from ‘industry sources’, the lady in question has the last say.

Excitement over the couple’s matrimony reached a new high when Virat and Anushka starred in bridal wear brand Manyavar’s ad making promises to each other while being passive attendees at a wedding. While it was adorable watching them together, gossip mongers went into match-making aunty mode, swore the duo is set to exchange vows soon. What cemented the speculations was Virat’s wish to make himself unavailable for selection for a Test match and the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka in December due to ‘personal reasons’. This personal reason was seen a definite sign of a probable wedding card hitching the two. Because the Indian cricket team caption worth Rs 127.7 crore, cannot possibly be having other personal business to attend this year.

The couple was first seen on screen for a Clear shampoo commercial in 2013 with the tagline, ‘Nothing To hide’. Clear may or may not have been successful in hiding dandruff but the couple sure has stuck with this tag line when it came to sharing their dating status with the world. So much so that, Anushkha even got blamed for Virat’s sore performance at the ICC World Cup semi-final match in Sydney in 2016.
While the rumours may have been knocked out by the lady herself, Manyavar seems to have scored big on the amount they may have paid the stellar couple in the form of publicity. After all, we would all love to see the couple brace the trousseau for real sometime soon. ​
