It once was a prestigious spot on the ocean waves, where royalty and celebrities would spend the holidays.

But new photographs have uncovered the first phase of QE2 transformation, foreign media writers, followed by Telegraph, which is now a floating hotel in Dubai.

The ship, which has a history of five decades, is now anchored forever at Mina Rashid, where some of its refurbished restaurants, accommodations and entertainment will be unveiled on April 18th.

QE2 was purchased from CFC hotels - part of the Dubai Government Ports, the Customs and Free Zone - which then gave the ship a "repair". It was owned by Cunard earlier.

The ship has been restored to its former glory, with the most beloved features of interior design - including its period furniture, famous paintings and famous relics - preserved.

The original windows will remind the guests of its marine adventures and a number of its original restaurants have maintained the same names and decor.

While extending its authentic features, the QE2 has also been fully equipped with all the latest technology.

The royal suites are described as the gem on the new QE2 crown, and offer a private porch, conservatory and dining room - in addition to a luxurious bedroom
