Something as simple as saying "it sounds like you're really depressed/angry/hopeless about all of this. What do you think about taking a break from the news for a week and seeing if it helps you feel better?"
Obviously, people are going to react like an addict being told they need to go to rehab much of the time, but I really do think fasting from this manipulation is the best solution each of us can take.
All it takes is one moment of lucidity to question why we're being lied to for the unwinding to start.
Asking someone who believes these lies "why do you think AOC would lie so publicly about Tulsi like this?" is another light way to start helping break the spell and free them from the suffering.
