My April fool experience

I am presently a corp member serving my country, a program for graduates after their first degree.
For the monthly salary by the federal government of Nigeria during National youth service. We do thumbprint every month to complete the payment voucher process at the local government. No fixed date but it is usually between 1st - 10th. So I risked it by travelling on the 30th of march back home for Easter , hoping to thumbprint on the 5th of April due to the fact that the last few months had been done on the 5th. Then this morning my Corper's liaison officer in charge of my unit called that the Local government inspector has fixed 1st of April for the monthly thumbprint for my zone. I was confused to the fact that I tell my dad I would be leaving in the next 1 hour for emergency. The journey back to my state of primary assignment is like 5hours. I left for the park, boarded a bus and the sadden journey started. About 3h 20mins my Corper's liaison officer sent a text apologizing for the prank and wishing me April fool day. I almost cried and i got angry at any minor incident in the bus to the extent that people had to avoid me. Had no choice but to continue the journey, can't waste money. Worst experience ever in my life
