My ph levels are still a little out of wack in my system so I had to implement more measures. I performed a water change using rain water from my 55gallon rain barrel. I also added these bath sponges to the media filter to increase the surface area for the beneficial bacteria to live.

Do you think it would work if you used a big pile of gill net? I'll bet is a lot cheaper.
