Aquatic Invasive Species Checkpoints - What's are these really about?

I have been doing an ongoing story with videos about these Aquatic Invasive Species checkpoints where if you have a boat you must pull over and submit to a temporary seizure of your person and property. The 4th Amendment prevents this without a reasonable cause that you have committed or are about to commit a crime.

In my 3 part series with Capt Eric Anderson of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife I break down an informal interview he had with Jana, part of the Questionable Authority crew. She hadn't researched the issue as much as I have when the interview took place. I have broken down the interview, looking between the lines. Check out part one of my series here. The focus on part one is the actual ecology of the Zebra Mussel. These are the reason for the checkpoints. I guess I don't think the government can do anything to stop the force of nature. To me these checkpoints are all about the government getting one more sector of our population comfortable with checkpoints on our roads.
