الأسلوب يعتمد  على وسيلة تحمل اسم  Folder Colorizerوهي متوافقة بشكل إجمالي مع أنظمة ويندوز بمختلف إصداراتها سواء كان ويندوز 7/8/10. برنامج Folder Colorizer بدون مقابل كلياً وهو يتيح أفضلية رائعة وهي التحكم بألوان الملفات كما ترغب في حسب رغبتك.
بهذا الأسلوب ستتمكن من إيجاد ملفاتك على نحو أسرع نتيجة لـ مفاضلتها بألوان محددة، الشأن الملفت بالبرنامج هو عدم حضور حواجز للألوان التي يمكنها الانتقاء منها، حيث تَستطيع مزج أي ألوان ترغب في للاستحواز على لون تختاره وهو ما يتيح ميدان تخصيص عظيم.

كل ما عليك هو تثبيت البرنامج من الرابط الذي يتواجد أدنى المقال، وبعد أن يتم تثبيت البرنامج على حاسوبك ستتمكن من النفع منه عبر الضغط على أي ملف تريده بزر الماوس اليمين ومن ثم سيظهر لك خيار Colorize ضمن القائمة ومنه تَستطيع اختيار لونك المفضل.

كما تَستطيع بسهولة العودة إلى اللون الافتراضي للملف عبر النقر مرة أخرىً على الملف بزر الماوس الأأيمن واختيار الخيار Restore original color، وإذا كنت ترغب بإلحاق ألوان أخرى غير حاضرة فيمكنك النقر على الخيار Colors.. وعندها ستفتح واجهة التطبيق ومنها ستتمكن من تأسيس أي لون تريده.
