Since late August 2017, under the act on 144 curfews have been imposed only on Rohingya residents of Maungdaw Township.

Under the curfew, Rohingyas are not allowed to leave their homes from 9 pm till 5 am in the morning.

The curfew duration imposed since then was about to finish, but Burmese authorities once again extended the curfew for two more months in the region.

Rohingya’s movement and travel has been restricted since the beginning of the regime’s rule in Burma (Myanmar).

Although Burma is under a so-called democratic government, the real values of a true democracy remain largely unrealized.
