Rathedaung: A Rohingya cow herder was tortured severely by an informant in a village of Rathedaung Township on 29th July 2018, reports locals.
A local informant in the village of Saugu Taung tortured the 11-year old cow herder while he was herding his master’s cow at 2 pm, resulting in critical injuries.
The victim was identified to be an orphan from the same village named Anuwar Sadeq S/O Abdu Shukkur.

After he escaped the attack and reached his master’s home, he explained how he was attacked by the local informant.
When the master went out of the home to see the informant, he saw him armed with sticks and sharp objects with the intention of attacking further.
The local informant was known in the area for his illegal and immoral activities among the locals.

Now he filed an illegal case on the master and elderly of the village to the authorities in Buthidaung Township with the help of his father, who is also a informant.
Due to the false case, Rohingya villagers are extremely worried about the upcoming situation.
“These informants have full support and coordination with the Burmese forces, that is why they can do anything to us” explains a village elder familiar with the terrifying situation.
Burmese forces coordinate with local informants and several among the Moghs (Rakhine) in Arakan, and many innocents are scapegoated on daily basis.
