Slim Fit

SLIM FIT is a permanent micro dwelling of 50 m2 designed to respond to urban densification.
The building occupies with a minimal footprint, 16 m2, less area than 2 parking spaces. The intelligent and flexible design has many applications: the house can be freestanding, connected or between existing buildings.

Because of the large size of the windows and the total height of the rooms, the micro-dwelling has a luxurious space. SLIM FIT proves that full space life is also possible in a minimal location. The first SLIM FIT was delivered to Almere Poort in the Netherlands. The house is built with breathtaking views of Homerus Park. It is characterized by carefully designed openings positioned on the four facades. This strategy offers the most ideal use of natural light; natural heating and cooling of spaces, and views towards the park. The functional organization of the different floors is based on the three basic functions of life: cooking and eating on the ground floor, next to the garden; live and relax on the first floor; sleep on the second floor.

To keep the walls as thin as possible, the house was built with a wooden frame. The interior walls are finished with birch wood panels and facades with Ayous wood. In addition to its durable qualities, the wooden skeleton has the advantage of being built in two days. The kitchen block, sanitary and all the furniture have standard dimensions. A standard pine wood staircase makes the connection vertical. Other interior elements such as the bookcase and sliding panels are constructed of birch plywood.

Interesting forms, but urban planning in this area is little bit chaotic.

Good use of space and an extraordinary layout. A simple work in its architectural conception.

Really like the form and design. Who is the architect?
