Glass Forest is an indie-pop group based out of Vancouver, BC. Their new single – "I Remember" – blends electronic dance elements with atmospheric soundscapes resulting in a euphoric pop track.
The song has been paired with an emotionally charged visual. Watch below.
Glass Forest vocalists Abby Wale and Nick Owen werre in a relationship that ultimately came to an end just prior to the making of "I Remember." The song served as a way for both Abby and Nick to express things left unsaid while working through their emotions of being in a band and being broken up; a safe space to explore their feelings and, ultimately, a therapy that needed to happen in order to move forward/on with their lives.
"I Remember" was produced by Nygel Asselin (Half Moon Run). Lead vocalist Nick Owen initially wrote the song on piano before getting together with bass player and beat maker Stephen Clarke. Finally the band headed into the studio with to put together the final track adding in vocals from Abby Wale and ambient guitar layers from Kristopher Franklin. The song came together really quickly over the course of three or four studio sessions. The song was mixed by Nygel Asselin and mastered by Randy Merrill (Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Ariana Grande).
Sometimes our minds can work against us writing stories that don’t exist. We struggle with trusting others while really it’s our own thoughts that overtake us and lead us astray.
