According to "Armenia International Airports" CJSC, which includes the two commercial airports operating in Armenia, "Zvartnots" and "Shirak," in February of 2021, 58,297 passengers departed and 31,901 passengers arrived, leaving a balance of -26,396. Compared to 2020, the departures for this February were more by 24,301.
Airport data for March though, is more worrying, but the number of citizens going abroad for seasonal work must also be taken into account.
In March of this year, 74,197 passengers departed from "Zvartnots" and "Shirak" airports, versus arrivals of 42,283. The difference for March is -31,914.
There is no clear data on which countries the citizens of Armenia left for, as "Armenia International Airports" CJSC did not provide such data citing transit flights.
2019:
In March 2019, 98,736 passengers departed from "Zvartnots" & "Shirak" and 101,119 passengers arrived to Armenia through the same airports. In this case, the difference was +2,383 in favor of those who arrived.
2018:
In March 2018, 89,507 passengers departed from the above-mentioned airports, and 97,236 passengers returned to the country through the same airports. In case of 2018, the difference is also in favor of the number of those who returned to the republic by +7,729.
