#Art-Inquiry // Art History, Art Theory, Art Psychology, Neuroaesthetics, Vision Building, and More..

A proposed tag to cultivate creativity and the study of art.

If Steemit is to become a home for great content, then it needs specialized categories for professional content creators. General tags are a great place for well-established Steemians to maintain their status through regular posting on trending tags, but for those of us who are looking for interesting content we can relate with, the large stream of low quality content in the 'new' section continually washes away the occasionally relevant posts from the view of the masses.

As a fine artist, one of my jobs is to continue developing my creative vision. This involves attempting to better understand the nature of art, so I always carve out time to study art history, theory, and the state of the artworld. Between spending my time reading books, following online publications, visiting museums and galleries, and meeting regularly with artists, I manage to supplement my artistic practice with new ideas, modes of thinking, and a greater perspective to draw from.

Unfortunately, I haven't yet found a feed or category on Steemit where I can regularly find such thought provoking content from multiple users. I would love to foster a community revolving around inquiry into Art (with a capital A) on Steemit. So I propose the hashtag #Art-Inquiry

Relevant Contributions to #Art-Inquiry

While tags are unmonitored and posts cannot be removed due to the nature of the Steemit platform - a plus side of Reddit's subreddit system - I'm sure this tag will remain outside the mainstream for a while. So until someone else begins to adopt the tag, you can be sure that anything I write on the subject of Art can be found here.

I encourage anyone writing relevant content to add this tag to their posts. Relevant content includes topics such as:

  • Art History
  • Art Theory
  • Psychology of Art
  • Aesthetics (the branch of philosophy that deals with the nature of art)
  • News on the Art World and Art Market
  • Informative Essays on the Process and Work of Other Artists.
  • Developing a Creative Vision
  • Your Thoughtful Ideas on Art

I'll be including the header image with a link to this article in any post I write with the tag #Art-Inquiry. I hope this page finds all the right inquisitive minds, that we may cultivate a more refined Arts culture on Steemit.

In the future, as I come across well-curated and quality blogs with content relevant to #Art-Inquiry, I will be sure to list them here.

Best regards,
John Dykstra
