Not as easy as it sounds. I have wasted an entire day trying to find my password. You know, the one that Steemit was so insistent we save. Turns out I didn't save it at all. Luckily my computer is a lot smarter than me. Although I am a Chrome fan, good old Safari had saved my password for me so a quick change of web browser and here I am! YAY!!!

So for you who don't know me here is a little background. Almost exactly 7 years ago I was diagnosed with cancer. Whist I was having chemotherapy, the drugs messed with my mind and I started having recurring dreams that I owned a dog. I started drawing a dog every day in order to stop the dreams and prevent myself from getting a real live dog. Anyway, fast forward to 2018 and I have been in remission for over 6 years but I still can't seem to shake my obsession with dogs.
Of course drawing dogs is one thing, finding a suitable home for them is another. I started on Facebook until they messed around with the algorithm and I moved the dogs to my spiritual home TSU.
I can't even begin to describe how much I miss that social network. It was everything I wanted as a base for my art business and there isn't a day that goes by I don't wish it was still around.
However, onwards and upwards. After TSU, I all but stopped posting my dogs online. There just wasn't a big enough audience for them and so I started selling my art through an agent at craft fairs across Scotland. As an artist this proved wonderful for my art company. As a business person I am prone to selling myself and my art short. I rarely made a profit because I under priced my work, selling it at the sort of prices one would expect to pay for a print when I have always only sold the actual one of a kind original art work.
As rewarding as it is to see my art work selling, I do miss the interactions of showing my work online and seeing all your comments. I especially miss the caption competitions I used to hold where the winner would win an original piece of dog art. Maybe if Steemit proves to be a platform worth exploring I might be prevailed upon to start running a few more competitions.
Therefore I suppose what I am trying to say is, I'm back! I missed you all, especially my #tsufamily and I hope that Steemit will prove to be a better home for all my poor homeless dogs.
Whilst most of my sales are dealt with by my agent, if you see a particular dog you like then don't hesitate to contact me. All artwork (unless otherwise specified) is sold at a flat rate of £100 (British Pounds). The art is signed and mounted in a coloured matt and placed in a cellophane wrapper for protection. All artwork includes free worldwide shipping.
Sadly I am no longer taking on commissions. However I will occasionally agree to redraw a dog in a different colour.

"a dog a day" is about to storm steemit. Welcome. You may not remember but in the past on tsu, i had a long chat with you. I can't remember the details but you were nice to me. I remember you are really learned education-wise, then we spoke something of how your imagination works when it comes to the dogs. My memory isn't very sharp. Another nice thing is, you will eventually sell your art here cos it is easy. You basically have bank cos with your steem wallet, you can receive payments within 3 seconds and zero fees and if you want to build an app eventually, you can build on the steem blockchain.

Yes it was same but i didn't make much traction there. Yes, it will work here especially cos of the community. It will take some time but i seriously, several tsuvians are here and it has worked for them @uwelang @steevc @infobunny is a bit new and @fitnfun is new but i am sure she can testify and for #art, there are many who are passionate about it here. They have difficult usernames but i overtime i will remember e.g @stellabelle will love this

I really like it. Better than Tsu because you don't have the family tree. There are still people with lots of power who piss people off, but I try to stay out of it. I have met some really nice writing types, as well as former Tsu people
By the way, don't upvote everyone and every thing at first, because you won't have the voting power yet. Use this https://www.steemnow.com/@adogaday to see how high your voting power is (the lower it goes the less your vote counts). Until you have a bigger wallet, try to keep your voting power over 80% (or even 90%). that means only 10 upvotes a day... for now.

It does feel a bit unnatural not to 'upvote' or like things you like, but everybody understands the voting thing (once explained to them) and we've all been through it, so a reply to say you appreciate the post is good, and you can resteem the posts you like too, which gives people more exposure.

for now. At the moment at 100% your vote will only be worth 1 cent. Once it gets below 80 it is not worth much anyway. Once you build up your steem power (and you can only do that after 7 days when you can claim your rewards) your vote is worth more, so you can afford to go below 80 (but it is best not to). Once you have enough steem power (I think it is 500) you get a slider so you can vote less than 100% of your voting power which means you can vote more often. I am still short of this magic power, but hope to get there in the next month or so

@mariannewest runs the #freewrite challenge (basically you just churn out whatever comes into your head for 5 minutes based on a daily prompt). She suggested you might want to 'lend' us one of your pieces of art as a prompt. That would get you more exposure. She is really nice, and supportive of a lot of people.

I remember you from TSU and am so glad to hear that you are in remission. I had cancer over 15 years ago and so far so good. Let's all assume we are done with that chapter.
I think you will really like it here. When I first found steemit, it reminded me so much of Tsu - and then, I found all the" old" Tsu people.

In case nobody has told you. It is best to keep your masterkey saved off line and only sign in with your private posting key (found in your wallet) and keep your active key handy - you need that for money transactions. But that is for later.
