The God We Had Was Us

in art •  7 years ago

Once upon a time, there was a God.
I mean a real God, different from the one most people are familiar with.
sorry if you are disappointed I wasn't writing about the trinity - God the father, son and the holy ghost.

The Duonity - God the father and the mother.
They exist as two persons in one God.
This is the God am writing about.

As at the time duonity existed, there was no need for the trinity. Everything the creator could have probably done for us, God the Father and Mother took responsibility of them all.

During the era of this God, there was no need to do anything to survive.
All we ever needed to do was to live life, and enjoy it to the fullest.
When the Duonity was with us, loving people and being loved in return was easy. Our smiles were always pure and our sorry sorry.
While this God was still by our side, there was nothing to loose in calling a spade a spade, and holding words back so as not to hurt the other wasn't that necessary.
Back then, there was no need to worry about
cloths, shelter, bread and internet subscription (sorry there was no internet then); the duonity was always there to take care of them all.

But later on, slowly, things changed.
These Gods we had began to die.
One by one they died, till they were all gone.
When this began to happen to most of us, nothing was more hurting.
We cried and cried, and could not stop.
But the more we cried the further they went
The more we wished they could return,
The longer they took to do so.

Little did we know that their time had gone, and our time to become our own God and that of our loved ones had begun.
The god we had was us but we where only going to realize later.

Some of these Gods left us with houses, cars and a few coins in the bank.
Some left us with nothing but a river of sadness that will never dry.
For those of us that were left with lands, cars, coins in the bank and maybe a family business; we had where to start fending for ourselves from.
But for those of us who were left with nothing, we where lost in the world but knew we had no choice but to march on.

We had reliable Gods, but they never lived to be that forever.
The God we had ceased to exist in the form we were used to.

The God we had now exist as me and you.
And I guess you and I both know that we may always make a good Gods to our children and love ones, but never to ourselves.
Why? Because sometimes, we may have to deceive and oppress our needs out of each other just to sustain the God-role we have grown to play in the lives of our children and that our love ones.

Why not @newborn? Thanks for the upvote. Am heading to your blog now.

I enjoyed reading your art philosophy. Well, about Duonity, I would rather like to believe they still are alive they just command us to act out being like them… Right?!

Art philosophy? Haha @leosenior. I never knew this piece had any philosophic aspect. Am glad you enjoyed it. I guess this piece has many perspectives. As an adult, I actually wrote this while i was reflecting about how we have grown to be our own father and mother. Looking up to nobody but ourselves for everything we and our love ones need. That actually made my parents look like they are actually a lost God. Hahaa... how does that sound?

Even more affecting))) I really mean it, and still philosophical as your kids will be Gods, male and female remembering about the two first to start like two loving Stars; the one we keep on seeing bright in the sky, the Sun… one of that Duonity, the second didn’t die either. I am sure She or He exists, just because of ya positive writing, this idea is between the lines. Thanks again

Wow that's so true. You gave me an eye to see my writing differently. You must be a better artist than myself. You are really a great guy. Thanks again too. :-)

Come on, @aniekan! You write I read, and there’s always something between the lines. You’ve also mentioned about many perspectives…
