Polymer clay creatures and process "Little hatchlings"

Hello Steemians
I have spent the last couple of hours making some of these friendly little creatures..

What I used..
Polymer clay. Any brand should be fine.
Cheap Rubber ended tool. I got mine in a set off ebay for a few quid.
I use a needle or pin. I find this transferes less dirt to the clay than a blade would.
For the eyes I have used small black glass beads.

Here is my general process...
Firstly, how I made the egg shell.

I rolled a chunk of white polymer clay into a warm malleable ball and proceeded to work it into a little bowl shape.
Then once I was happy with the shape, I simply used a needle to cut some sharp edges.

Next I grabbed a small chunk of some flesh tone polymer clay and worked it into a ball as before...

...Monuvering the clay to the desired shape I was looking for and adding a small ball for what will later become the head..

I pushed the beads a little into the clay
Next I used very small bits of polymer clay to make eye lids. Using my rubber tool to blend the clay seamlessly. I used the pin to put tiny detail marks around the eyes, and a small opening for a mouth too.

Work the face to refine the features using the tool and pin. I added a tail too :)

I made a few variations on this design and will be baking them in the oven tomorrow, along with some others I'd made a little while ago..
