Fighting Poses WIPs (Like... a prequel to an Animation Progress Report??)

So, in continuing with the [battle animations], I decided to mock up some general stances for some characters before I got to animating them.

And, because of course I did, I decided to draw [Haunuk and Nikole] first.

Nicole, before I started using her in this environment, back in her own series she used a staff. Well, she also kind of used water/ice magic, and used that a lot more than the staff, but I figure she'd probably still use a staffkind strife specibus.

I actually spent most of this morning checking out videos about how people fight with staffs, to try to get her to have some proper technique. Haunuk doesn't really have much research into his stances, mostly because I don't imagine he was formally trained. He just kinda. He do tha punch. He do tha kick.

I think Taylor would also have a staffkind specibus, but... I wouldn't want them to use the same fighting technique, and that would have caused me to spend SEVERAL MORE HOURS looking into this, so I just kept it at Nikole for now.

So, alongside these, I'll probably also do kicking and jumping animations, and... honestly I have no idea what I'll do with them when I'm done.

Anyway so I'm not sure what else to say here, I need to keep studying these videos, so

I would also include the concept art of Kagens and Kaawaa in their godteir outfits, but I'm not sure if that would be a problem, copyright-wise? The characters are mine, but putting them in those outfits (which are part of this other series' comic lore/game stuff) might be problematic.
