The messenger of the invisible creatures.

Personally I am passionate about the magic of nature, I am a follower of mythology, fairies and sirens, my heart tries to convince my mind that these beings really exist in another plane with which it is not easy to connect, but nature It is the bridge. I admire people who have the ability to do so, which is why I usually investigate ordinary people like you or me who have the peculiarity of coming into contact with that world and bring us a little of it through their art. Such is the case of Moisés Espino, a Spanish sculptor who is dedicated to modeling unique mythological figures, product of his imagination, his work is impressive and today I invite you to know his history.

Moisés Espino.

He was born in 1981, when he was 4 years old he fell by accident in a stream, he remembers that it was a Undine who helped him out of there without suffering more damage. To this event he attributes his special bond with magical beings.

During his childhood he used to spend time in the forest imagining a magical world, the forest invited him to get lost in it, there he felt accompanied by the energy of the trees and found an ineffable peace. It created fantastic stories about magical creatures of the spirits of nature that inhabit trees and rivers. He felt himself observed in the midst of his solitude, nowadays he is an adult and attributes this presence to the elemental beings. From an early age he began modeling with plasticine the characters he imagined, it was a pastime in which he stood out very much from an early age.

With the arrival of responsibilities he had to leave his hobby aside to study film, get a conventional job and live a normal life following the social parameters. One day he reflected on his lifestyle and realized that he was not being happy, he decided to become a child and to find his passion again. He remembered that he was on the mountain, what made him happy; looking at a stream or seeing a leaf fall, only being in contact with nature came to his mind ideas of stories and characters, which came to life in his hands, he understood that there was his art.

The incredible process to bring creatures to life with their own hands is spontaneous, there is a special magical alchemy between your fingers that comes from your heart. To carry out his work begins with a visit to the forest, where sitting on a trunk on the bank of the river can contemplate nature in its wild state, listen to it and perceive life in it, in this way begin to come to mind creatures of the forest: monsters, trolls, elves, fairies, goblins and other mythological beings of the legends that populate the world.

He draws them in a notebook, then models and sculpts them in him workshop with polymer clay, resin, pigments, fabric and synthetic hair. In each work he captures his soul and creativity, the figures are extraordinary and seem to come alive in front of his eyes. They are unique pieces and each one represents a story about the elemental spirits that he imagines with the mind and the heart. The last step in his works are always the eyes, he says that the expression of the eyes is what makes his figures fill with life and can tell a story.

He does not attribute any mystical characteristic to his figures, he knows that they are only inanimate objects, his idea is that people can connect with what they can not see with the eyes, but with the soul. It invites us to return to the pure essence of nature, understanding that it is more ancient and wise than humanity, according to Moses anyone who wants to contact elemental beings can do so, we only need to be honest with ourselves and open our souls to them . The invisible beings have given a message to us: they are willing to help us to have the strong and deep connection we had with them in the past.

Moisés created a personal blog called GoblinsLab where he shares photos of his creatures and writes creative stories about them, his stories are magical and in them he gives life to his beings, tells his origins, personality, magical powers and the reasons for the physical aspect they have. The stories are so fabulous that it causes you to read one after the other, until you meet all your monsters. The stories are available in English and Spanish accompanied by genuine photos. We could define Moses as an integral artist for his multiple talents in sculpture, writing and photography, thanks to this he helps to bring back the magic lost in the world, spreading his magical creatures all over the globe.

The artist has a virtual store where he sells his sculptures, the prices are in Euros, from Spain he ships worldwide and custom orders. All the pieces are unique and do not replicate their own work, you can make a figure similar to another but never the same. It makes special emphasis that these supernatural companions are not toys, therefore it is not advisable to acquire them for children, they are pieces of unrepeatable collection, they have small accessories that can be harmful for a child, especially if they are ingested.

"My advice to those people have ever felt the call of art is to go ahead, without thinking twice, because I know from experience that you suffer when the soul screams locked up and for various reasons you intend to keep it locked, it hurts until you finally explode. Never lose sight of your dreams, go back and think about what made you happy when you were children and then find that it is the same but as adults. Only when you become a child do you find yourself.
